Total Carpometacarpal Dislocations
Ha Dae-Ho

Abstract
Carpometacarpal dislocations are less common than interphalangeal dislocations and total carpometacarpal dislocation with carpometacarpal dislocation of thumb are extremely rare. Severe associated injuries are often combined. General swelling may obscure the characteristic clinical deformity and routine radiographs may nat show the displacement clearly in clinical. We treated by open reduction. Kirschner wires fixation and autogenous cancellous bone graft of total carpometacarpal dislocation in neglected case. Active motion of the fingers was begun in the immediate postoperative period and all immobilization was discontinued at six weeks. The Kirschner wires were removed and the patients were instructed in range of motion exercises. This paper reviews our experience with one case of total carpometacarpal joint dislocation of hand, and we report this case with review of literatures.
